Bad Boss (Irresistible) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 1,452 ratings

He was supposed to be my first and only one-night stand.
He was definitely never supposed to become my boss.

...
I had always been the good girl – the workaholic with every second of her life mapped out to a tee.

Then I got trapped in an elevator with Julian Hoult.

He was… irresistible. Sophisticated sex in a crisp white shirt. His voice alone dropped me straight to my knees. What was I supposed to do?

Well….

I can tell you what I was definitely not supposed to do.

I was not supposed to run into him ever again. I was not supposed to be desperately unemployed, and I was definitely not supposed to accept his dirty little job offer.

But I couldn’t resist.

As CEO of the Hoult Media empire, Julian will stop at nothing to get what he wants. So for his next venture with Manhattan’s most lecherous billionaires, he’s hired me to play the role of bait. And while my official title is that of Executive Assistant, my actual job requires low tops, tight skirts and flaunting everything I’ve got till his clients are easy to bend – till they can barely think for themselves anymore.

It’s sleazy and wrong. Against everything I’ve worked for. But with Julian as my audience, I can’t help but enjoy every second. Thanks to him, I’m embracing the bad, and I swear…

I’ve never in my life felt this damned good.

It's easy to forget how one conversation can change your life. Sara makes a decision that changes her future and helps her heal from her past. Julian changes from an emotionless robot to a man that will do whatever it takes to keep a smile on her face. They fit so well together, compliment each other and make each other the best versions of themselves.

Julian is the epitome of a moody, bad tempered workaholic boss and Sara has enough sass and attitude to put him in his place. I love them.

This was my first Stella Rhys book and I really enjoyed it. It's funny but super hot at times too. Sara and Julian's chemistry is off the charts. I was quickly hooked into the story and it was a great original plot that I really enjoyed reading. Overall a great read I would highly recommend.

This is a great book that you don't want to miss reading.
The book has everything that you want. It's full of emotion, has plenty of hot steamy scenes & a few twists & turns.
I loved how Sara & Julian are together & their chemistry is off the charts. Will they have anything more when past hurts come back to haunt them. Loved this book.

I loved this. Great characters, lots of steamy scenes and a plot that rocketed forwards to a satisfying ending. Sara managed to be strong and full of sass without being annoying, and Julian was dominant male hotness with a decent dose of humanity underneath his alpha persona. The chemistry between them sizzled red-hot.

I received an ARC of this book. I was under no obligation to leave a review, but chose to do so.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the storyline and how it all started. I loved the characters, I really enjoyed how they all acted around each other. Some parts was really funny n others were emotional. I enjoyed the drama this book offered but the romance part was so sweet. Loved it As this was book 2, I have to go n read book 1. I loved that too. Highly recommend

I had a read a previous book in the series and I was intrigued by the characters of Sara and Julian. I loved the sample however the rest of the book did not live up to my expectations. I would rate this as ok. I'm not giving up on this author as I have now started another of her books and I am really enjoying it. Something about the characters in Bad Boss just didn't work for me.

Who knew that an unexpected one-night stand will turn into a business contract? This adorable duo will make your head spin with their rules and their encounters will either frustrate you or make you swoon or blush.

Their unexpected story will keep you glued to your seats and their friends will definitely entertain you non-stop.

I was provided a copy for review purposes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sara and Julian
Reviewed in the United States on 19 January 2025
Sara’s past just made me want to hug her the entire book. I never imagined her backstory would be so hardcore. My heart broke for her through most of the book. Reading the struggles and then you throw in Julian. A lot made sense when it came to him after getting background on him. Seeing what he went through; made who he is a lot easier to digest. These two people who suffered such harsh pasts coming together in such a strange and magnetic way was such an enjoyable read. I really did enjoy this book and look forward to seeing what is to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievably Great
Reviewed in Canada on 30 April 2022
What a spicey opening!! Yes we need a little background information on Sara and why she’s looking for a one night stand, but then it gets hot and heavy super fast with the stranger in the elevator… It is pretty funny that they get interrupted and her plans are ruined from humiliation. But is it fate that will bring these two strangers together again? Has to be since they have mutual friends, it’s surprising they haven’t met each other sooner.

Now Julian needs Sara’s help with closing a deal. He needs to put aside his attraction to her and stay focused on his work. When Sara accepts the job and hears Julian’s ‘no fraternization policy’ she is determined to stay professional, but Julian is the one making it impossible. These two try to fight the chemistry for as long as they can, but of course things are going to heat to a boiling point. So they will just do what they want on the side and not get caught and continue to work together to close this major deal and everything will work out in the end right…??!!

I love this office trope where the characters deny and avoid feelings until the tension is unbearable. There is a lot of baggage with both of these two in their pasts that are going to be hard speed bumps in their journey. Can they make it through and find each other on the other side? You gotta read the book to find out!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read!
Reviewed in the United States on 23 October 2024
This was a good solid read. There’s plenty of angst, a little bit of turmoil, and enough fluffy spice to go around! The characters both had a rather traumatic past that prevented them from fully living in their present until each other.

    Check your triggers and enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Book was okay - Kind of disappointed
Reviewed in the United States on 17 June 2022
I was very excited to read about Julian, I loved his grumpy, workaholic demeanor in the first book. I was a bit disappointed that he fell for someone so fast, I thought I would see more of a slow burn, especially given his personality.

Lia was very annoying in this book. Now that she is with Lukas she kept trying to play love therapist and it was completely unnecessary. She kept forcing Sara to do things and ultimately became that “toxic” best friend I don’t like to read about in books.

I’m still going to rate it three stars because I love Julian and his entire demeanor. I just wish that they had a little more push and pull between them. It’s kind of hard to believe that Julian is someone who falls into the insta-love category which is what this is.

Then the climax of the story where the drama happens felt like it was forced. Julian sent Sara to London just for her to return and they both actually talk about their feelings and what happened. If they talked in the first place we would’ve avoided two unnecessary chapters.

Unfortunately I’ll have to stop reading the series, but I recommend everyone still give it a chance. I just can’t read after the one book I anticipated ended up flopping for me. It was fast paced and just too unrealistic for someone like Julian.
