Legally Mine (Spitfire Book 2) Kindle Edition
I should be flying high. I’ve graduated from the best law school in the world, and I’m ready to start my career. So why do I feel like I’m holding the world on my shoulders instead of standing on top of it?
Oh, right. Him.
Bad boy. Billionaire. Larger-than-life Brandon Sterling. In a few short months, he became the sun to my universe, only to flip it upside down and inside out, leaving me to make the biggest decision of my life alone.
I don’t want to miss him like I do. I don’t want to love him like I do.
So the question is, when he comes back––if he comes back––will he forgive me for what I’ve done?

Nicole French is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance. She's also a hopeless romantic, low-key fashion addict, and total bookworm. When not writing, she is hanging out with her family, playing soccer or going on dates with her husband. In her spare time, she likes to go running or practice the piano but never seems to do either one of these things as much as she should.

- Reviewed in Australia on 29 April 2018Verified PurchaseAlthough I usually find the second book in a trilogy slow going, this was not the case when it came to Legally Mine, the second book in the Spitfire Series. Why? I’ll try to explain.
There are different elements to a story and although some elements are stronger, they all play important part. Nicole French’s writing makes every part shine. Not only did I become involved in the story, but I was desperate to know how it would play out. I didn’t feel like I was treading water during this second book. I was riding the waves, but there were a few riptides pulling me back. This story was not boring.
The characters were a strong part of the story and I loved the major characters, Skylar and Brandon. I wanted them to have their happy ever-afters, but they also annoyed me. You know the feeling you get when you want to take a character to the side and give them advice? Yeah, that happened on more than one occasion. But there were also characters I hated even though their parts in Skylar’s and Brandon’s story were important.
Did it end on a cliff hanger? Yes, it did but I already had the third book in the series on my kindle ready to go so I wasn’t hyperventilating.

(BTW, I bought all the books in Spitfire Series, the first one was free simply because this series is that good.)
- Reviewed in Australia on 28 June 2017Legally Mine, the second book in this millionaire mixed with suspense trilogy, picks up where the first book left off. This follows in the same fashion as the previous book of things steadily building (it’s another fairly long read) and is filled with plenty of angst but just when I thought the book was becoming a little predictable there was one last surprise that gets thrown in at the very end that leaves you eagerly wanting to read the conclusion to the cliffhanger and plot in book 3!
Mostly told from Skylar’s perspective, with a couple from Brandon’s POV to help move the story along, Skylar and Brandon are at a crossroads as they both find their lives moving forward but with challenges coming their way that make a relationship still just as hard. Sub-characters play larger roles within this book in comparison to the first book which focused more on Skylar and Brandon. It’ll be interesting to see what roles these characters play in the conclusion of the story.
I’m not sure if it was just me but I found this book to be sort of more a filler book to move the plot along ready for the final book. I’ll be honest that I got a little bored at times with the pacing and frustrated with the characters in this book as they were a little too contradicting so I’m hoping in the final book I’ll start to love them again as I did in the first book. In terms of writing style, however, this book continued in the well written and edited style of the previous book.
Definitely looking forward to reading the conclusion to this series!

Book 2 of Brandon and Skylar's story does not disappoint. It continues from where the first book ends.
I really liked this book and cannot wait for book 3 (Hurry up September)
This book does end on a cliffhanger.
- Reviewed in Australia on 5 November 2017this was an awesome read. from start to finish i really enjoyed this book. it really yanked on the emotions and all the feels.
- Reviewed in Australia on 8 August 2021Verified PurchaseThe connections between Skylar and Brandon makes you want to keep reading their story. The secret Skylar keeps becames annoying especially since from the start when Skylar asked Brandon for the truth always the truth and when it was time for her to tell the truth she couldn't do it until she was cornered. The Miranda thing was also annoying and i think should have be dealt with long before the end of the book. I hope the next book doesn't get dragged out as much as i thought this one did.
- Reviewed in Australia on 8 February 2018This is book 2 in the Spitfire series. It was an
engaging story and I have grown to love these characters and their journey. I can’t wait to see how it ends.
The were some tough hitting topics explored, which was a bit tough at times to take. Worth the difficulty though, to see how they explore the struggles they are facing.
The characters are AMAZING. The depth of their personalities were awe inspiring and refreshing.
The storyline was strong and realistic. It wasn’t far fetched or over the top, just an honest story that everyone will get something out of.
Being on book 3
- Reviewed in Australia on 30 September 2018Verified PurchaseDrama, love and sadness. The repetition of this book was its downfall. I’ve read the first book, so all of the repeated scenes to allow the reader the “catchup” was too frequent. These books definitely cannot be read as standalones. The first 2 end on cliffhangers. The story has lots of drama and love and kept me interested. I’ll read the last coz I’m need my books to have a HEA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overwhelming!
Verified PurchaseAll I wanna say is Skylar has some major issues with affection and love that's why she took off and even aborted her baby. She should have told Brandon. She was selfish for a reason but selfish nonetheless. Her kidnapping was just a blessing in disguise for her relationship with Brandon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jam Packed with all the good stuff!
Verified PurchaseBook 2 introduces Skylar’s mom, stepdad & their kids. Jared and his smarmy self is still in the friend zone. Jane & Erik will hopefully get their own books and tales of how goth & man-whore find a happy medium. Bubbe & Pips’s Dad aren’t at the forefront of Legally Mine, but they are still woven in the background. Miranda will hopefully get the boot in book 3. Then there is Red, all her secrets and an ending I didn’t see coming.
The storytelling is phenomenal! There’s mystery, spicy sex scenes, pull on your heartstrings moments, blackmail, beautiful destinations described so well you can imagine being there. The Cape destination made we want to plan a girls trip! Lol.
Plan on several nights or an entire weekend of uninterrupted bliss and the Spitfire series to ignore household chores, life & delve deep into the world of Harvard Law Graduate Skylar.

1.0 out of 5 stars Clichés, sexe encore et encore. Histoire invraisemblable.
Verified PurchaseOn s'ennuit. Trop de sexe, on dirait des lapins. L'histoire est une suite ininterrompue de clichés. Le drame est artificiel.
