Breaching the Contract (The Conflict of Interest Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
Katerina Dawson knows exactly what she wants from life. And as the new associate at the top law firm in the city, she’s ready to live out her dreams of becoming a criminal lawyer. But going on coffee runs and babysitting kids during the day was definitely not what she had in mind. She knows that anyone else would kill to be in her shoes, but she has to draw the line somewhere. That’s easier said than done, though, when Kat has to confront her handsome boss…
Tristan Channing and Jaxon Bentley run a successful law firm together and the two partners couldn’t be busier right now. When Jaxon suddenly takes a leave of absence, Tristan begrudgingly assumes responsibility of the new associate, the hot new associate, who has curves for days. Needing to keep his distance from her, Tristan sends Kat on needless errands and has her doing work even an intern wouldn’t touch, like picking up his kids. But his plan backfires when he sees his children grow attached to Kat and sees her getting comfortable in his home. It triggers something deep within him, and it feels right to have her there. Will Tristan be able to keep his work and personal lives separate, or will he find that his heart holds the final verdict?

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 March 2018Steamy and romantic!
I can't wait to read Seducing The Defendant. Kat is a great lady, and Tristan is hot as fire. The two of them together is magic.
How my heart broke for Tristan, learning about his wife and son like he did. Wouldn't feel good for anyone watching on the sidelines. I'm way too empathetic. I just wanted to hug him, but couldn't squeeze into the pages.
Very good, quick and fun read! I know a lot of you will love it so read it!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2017A short and sweet read. Who knew getting your dream job could also be a big pain in the butt. Especially when your hot single dad boos has you running around doing everything but your job, and he is doing his job, while trying not to think about undressing his hot new colleague. An alpha male who can be a jerk, but deep down underneath he is super sexy and actually has a big heart, while our female gets in way over her head with both the tasks she is given and what feelings she begins to feel for Tristan
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 September 2017This was a great short and sweet, sexy hot office romance an just what i was looking for. It low key on the drama and its pour romance an lust. There is great chemistry between the characters and it had a good pace. I know there are 2 more volumes planned for this series and I look forward to reading them.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 September 2017You will enjoy Kat and Tristan's story, with its fast-paced flow, adorable characters (Logan is my favorite), sweet and sexy moments, and lots of love! But with the stress of their job and Tristan's problems, can their love survive?
I was provided a copy for review purposes.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2017Quick, sexy, predictable feel good read. Katerina Dawson has landed her dream job as an associate working for Jaxon Bentley at a top law firm. Unfortunately it comes with an added distraction of Tristan Channing, hot, sexy dad of two adorable children and partner in said law firm. When Kat ends up having to run menial errands for Channing she is not best pleased, but as you can guess one thing leads to another and, yep, you've guessed it! The chemistry is off the charts hot with these two, add into the mix two adorable children and I was hooked. There is however a major twist I did not seeing coming. Enjoyable holiday read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2017Kat has landed a job as an associate in a law firm and finds herself working with a partner in the firm, the hot, single dad, Tristan.
Whilst the attraction is instant, Kat takes a more professional approach. The same cannot be said for Tristan who can't keep Kat far away enough to hide his attraction and sends her on errands well below her paygrade!
This was one of those reads that you can't put down. I found myself reading in the supermarket queue and cooking tea! I loved that there was no angst.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2017Breaching The Contract is the first stand alone book in Chantal Fernando's Conflict of Interest series.
This was a very quick read and felt more like a short story than a full length book. If I look at it from the stand point of a short novel then this was a great little read. It was fast paced with a good story and likeable characters.
However, I just really wish this had been a full length book and the plot and characters fleshed out more. The bare bones were there for this to be an excellent read but it just fell a little short for me. The beginning was really engrossing and I was pulled into the story really quickly but then boom it was over and the ending just felt terribly rushed.
I didn't dislike this book be any means, I just felt a little short changed. That being said, if you're looking for a quick read, that's easy with likeable characters, you won't go far wrong with this.
I was provided with a copy of this book from the Publisher via NetGalley; there was no inducement or obligation.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2017This is the first in a new series from this author that was an easy lazy quick read. Do yourself a favour and don't read the blurb as the author gives far too much away that could take from the story.
Kat is a recent law graduate starting her new job that promises to live up to her hopes of being an associate rather than an intern that is until a family emergency forces her to work under her bosses partner. Tristan is a moody arrogant character at first glance but you soon learn there is more to him.
There is an attraction between the two but Tristan is determined to keep Kat at a safe distance even if that means giving her menial and domestic jobs that keep her out of the office. Though this only makes him see Kat in a different light and before long he can no longer deny the attraction.
This is an easy office romance read that doesn't really have any angsty moments to speak of. The story just ambles along at a steady pace so if you're looking for a read where you can just switch off for a couple of hours then you will enjoy this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Conflict of Interest!
What a fantastic start to a sparkling new series!
5 Stars ...
Breaching the Contract is the first debut to Chantal Fernando's 'The Conflict of Interest series' introducing Kat and Tristian.
"Conflict of Interest... arises in Breaching the Contract"
Katerina "Kat" Dawson just landed her dream job, an Associate at Brentley and Channing law firm. Her boss, Jaxson Bentley is one of the most sought after Criminal Lawyer around and Kat was shocked to be picked to work under Jax right out of Law school.
Everything changes when Kat's boss take a sudden leave of absence and leaves her to work under his best friend and partner, Tristian Channing.
Her new sexy boss, but a relationship isn't in her cards.
"They go head to head"
Instead of treating Kat like an Associate, Tristian sends her on errands -- picking up his lunch or coffee to grabbing his kids from school and watch them til he gets home.
Kat is furious, she wasn't hired on as his kids nanny or his personal assistant, even though she's starting to get attached to his children..
Tristian knows not to mix business with pleasure... but there's something about Kat that he wants to explore...
Kat doesn't want a relationship...or does she?
Will Kat and Tristian throw caution to the wind? See where there attraction takes them...?

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Romance with Just Enough Steam
I won my e-copy through goodreads giveaways for an honest review.
Kat is the new assistant lawyer working with Jaxon. She is out during lunch when she notices a nice looking man in a suit has dropped his wallet. While trying to return it to him, she decides that he is arrogant and rude and for some strange reason highly attracted to him. When it is all said and done she is asked out for coffee but slyly walks away without a commitment.
This man is on her mind off and on until she meets him at the firm...he is partner, Tristan. And Kat is totally screwed!
The story flows well and I was genuinely interested in how the story was going to unfold. There is a twist that was unexpected for me. I'm even interested in the second story of the series and I'm not a series person.

3.0 out of 5 stars Huge missing gaps
I liked the premise, but I felt like huge gaps of the story were missing. It was really frustrating, and I even double-checked the book to make sure the audio wasn't missing something.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet
It was a nice short and sweet story. Would have like a back story for Tristin and his wife. The twist came out of blues. Can't wait for Jaxon's story 😊

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice start to a series
I love her Wind 💨 Dragon 🐉 series so thought I'd give this a try. Glad I did.
Kate and Tristen. She just graduate from college, he is a partner at her new job.
He's an ass when they first meet and continues to be so, until he doesn't. That's when the hot times start.
A quick, enjoyable read.
Gladly getting the next one.
