Battered. Bruised. Broken. Every single day, my troubles worsen…
After nearly losing Gabe, I’ve come to realize just how much he means to me. Yet even though I might want to confess my true feelings to him, doing so would leave me far too vulnerable at a time when I can least afford it.
That’s because devastating news about the Link Protocol and my grandmother are threatening to send my career, and my life, spiraling out of control.
With the demise of my only relative seemingly imminent and Gabe’s unceasing demands weighing on me, I’m not sure how much more I can take.

And so the story continues. This is book four in this series. Each book is a quick read and must be read in order.
After book threes ending left me with my jaw hanging open I couldn't wait to read this book. As soon as it landed on my kindle I got stuck right in.
My feelings towards Fiona keeps changing as I'm reading this series. My heart goes out to her for her situation but I wish she'd get some backbone and talk to Gabe. I felt Gabes frustration in this story. He really wanted to understand Fiona but she wouldn't talk.
I got this book from the author in exchange for an honest review
With Gabe giving Fiona a scare on the yacht, things turn for the worst. With the presentation approaching Fiona feels like she can't go through with it, and Gabe is furious. With news about the protocol results not very good it forces Fiona to leave to take care of it, leaving Gabe to do damage control. When Fiona gets back she gets more horrible news and her job is now in jeopardy. When Gabe can't take Fiona insulting him and Fiona pushing him away, there comes a breaking point. How will Fiona and Gabe get passed another hurdle? I can't wait to read what happens next
Ahhhhhhhh I want to shoot Gabe not even kidding he treats her horrible. Fiona is my hero she's been through so many things in her young life. I'm glad she did what she did he deserves it. But on one hand I do love him he's just an ass. I do believe he tried but it is as if sometimes he acts like a spoiled child. Fiona will get past everything and I truly do hope to see some major changes in Gabe. I will admit he has potential if he would just stop putting his foot in his mouth. Fiona doesn't realize that he is into her more than she thinks. I just wanted to hug her and let her know it's going to be fine. Deep breaths love you will be fine. This was given to me for an honest review from the author and Give me books. Reviewing for Night and Day book blog http://ndbbr2014.com Stephanie Powell
I received a copy of this book directly from the author in exchange for my honest review.
This is the 4th book in this series, and they must be read in order.
The cliffhanger ending that we were treated to at the end of the last installment is resolved very quickly. Though Book 3 ended with a big bang, I doubt that readers were really scared that Gabe would succumb to a watery fate. However, the experience has certainly left its mark upon Fiona. At this point in time, she realizes that losing him would be a hard thing to overcome.
Unfortunately, Fiona's very actions don't help her cause against that very thing happening. Even though she was previously convinced that she could conquer the big presentation, somethings happens to change her mind. All of a sudden, after a passionate romp with Gabe, she is back to her doubting ways and convinces herself that she can't proceed with her part at the convention. I'm not quite sure why, nor is she able to offer an explanation to the person who needs it most - her boss.
After a mishap with the lab results back home gives her an out, she leaves Gabe to fend off the increasingly pessimistic investors who are gathered at the resort. Gabe does his best to save face while counting on Fiona to step up and handle the situation as quickly as possible.
While apart, the two do some real soul-searching. Unfortunately, they don't share this with one another. Communication has always been their downfall, and it's definitely no different here. Fiona makes some choices back home that ultimately seal her fate with Gabe on both a personal and professional level, and Gabe takes the opportunity to de-stress and unplug from the hectic goings on that make up a billionaire's life.
When these two do get together, most of the time it ends up resulting in an argument. These are two very strong willed individuals, and neither one is backing down. Even though he's frustrated with Fiona as an employee, Gabe realizes that he's never felt this way about another woman before. As much as he is annoyed by her insubordination, I also think it turns him on.
Again, I'm feeling Gabe's side of things more than I do Fiona's. Fiona has a lot of growing up to do. I'm tired of feeling sorry for her simply because her mantra seems to revolve around all of the tragedies in her life and how she can't get past them. Yes, she lost her family in a terrible accident, yes her grandmother is terminally ill, yes she has a mountain of medical debt to pay off. I get all that. But in real life, there are countless stories of people overcoming similar obstacles and thriving. She really needs to do a Google search to find inspiration and claim one of these people as her role model. The whole woe is me routine is wearing quite thin.
Other reviewers have gotten upset with Gabe's actions in this book. Me? I think it's about damn time he calls her out and I was happy to see him do just that.
There is no way that this coupling can survive if Fiona cannot trust Gabe. And seriously, he's done nothing to prove that he's not worthy of this. I'm hoping that in the final installment, they can meet in the middle and move on together, instead of butting heads.
And I know I put this in every review, but since the subtitle of the book labels this an erotic romance, I expect a lot more heat than what I've seen thus far. This is a captivating storyline, and a well written book, but it is nowhere near erotic. Since I read several subgenres of romance, I'm more than good with tame, but the classification stares me in the face on my Kindle screen throughout, and I can't help but feel it is a misnomer.
Many thanks to Sloan Storm, who granted me a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I have to applaud Sloan’s ability to write flawed characters: just when I want to grab Fiona by the neck and choke her to death, she turns around and becomes sympathetic again. Sometimes I just don’t know what to think about her.
Gabe and Fiona are on St. Barths for the presentation of the Link Protocol research to the investors in Hawkins Biotech. This is the big speech that Fiona has been gearing up for. When we last left these two, they had finally opened up to each other a bit, and had gotten into a sticky situation on a boat. That was quickly resolved, only for a different kind of problem to arise. Due to trouble at the lab, Fiona had to leave the island before the presentation, leaving Gabe to stall the investors until she could solve the problem and get back to him. This did not put him in the best of moods, as you may well guess. Upon arriving back at the lab Fiona gets a call that she has been dreading; the one thing that could make work problems seem like minor inconvenience.
This is where Fiona shone for me in this story, in her brokenness, in her raw inconsolable grief. I almost shed a tear, believe it or not. I also wondered for a brief minute if she would attempt suicide. This changes everything for Fiona, sweeps all that she’s become so comfortable with out from under her feet. She doesn’t have time for her childish insecurities any longer; she has got to grow up now. I can’t help but wonder if she will fall or fly.
Gabe...the jury’s still out on Gabe. I personally like him, even if he does use his position to his advantage every chance he gets. The man has the patience of a saint. He makes a rather hasty decision in this book, and comes to regret it. He manages to finagle himself a second chance, but i wonder if he can live with Fiona’s requirements, this time around.
The next book will be the final of this series. There’s a lot to wrap up, and I’m looking forward to finding out how the story ends.
Oh My Gawd Sloan what are you doing to us??? Yet again you had me in tears and turmoil. No matter how over bearing and at times suffocating Gabe is, I can feel the immense affection he has for Fiona, even if she's not sure...... but I feel mix emotions of how they BOTH are going about their relationship. As whilst she's so frightened with how long He was under liking for her most treasured bracelet. She's very up tight about doing her presentation about their??? When she gets a message where she needs to get back to the lab to sort it out, but whilst she's there staying at a hotel as she doesn't want to have to lie to her Grandmother, she's told that she's needed as her Grandmother has taking a turn for the worse and she needs to get to hospital. During the time away she's not communicating with Gabe and didn't let him know what's happening though she does have to tell HR. While this is going on for Fiona, Gabe goes to a secluded Island to find himself. He turns up to try and be there for her but she pushes him away, then again a few essays later where they have the most hated argument where they're BOTH saying hurtful things to each other and where in the end he fits her & then realises what he's done & her needs her so he offers her, her job back double the wage and she says but h having a clause in the contract where he didn't call her into his office and never alone. So YET again Sloan's left us hanging and waiting to see how they BOTH go about their relationship.......
Received a copy from the author for an honest review....
Let me tell you the suspense that this book begins with will leave you wondering where this book will take us and whom will be along for the ride by the end. The story in this book is very well written and well developed and the story is very fast paced. The characters in this book, well what can we say about them, when will Fiona learn that she is a strong, independent women who can stand on her own two feet, and when will Gabe decide what he really wants out of life and where the relationship with Fiona? These two characters are really in a league of their own.
This book sees Fiona rushing home for an emergency with the lab testing and this is after Gabe runs hot and cold with her, again. Gabes behaviour is really getting old and he needs to man up and admit what he wants from Fiona. When Fiona is at the lab dealing with the problems there she is called by the nurse taking care of her grandmother who's illness has taken a turn for the worse, and Fiona's worst fear will come to pass. Will Fiona be able to get over her loss and when Gabe finally realizes what he has with Fiona and that he wants her back, will it be to late.
Book four has it all, passion, tragedy, moments where you will want to pick Gabe up and smack the ever loving #$#%# out of him, and will end just when things are getting good. Cannot wait for book five.
I’m so impressed with this series so far! At the end of book 3 Gabe had dived into the depths to save Fiona’s bracelet. We were left hanging after he had yet to surface several minutes later leaving a panicked Fiona with no clue what to do. We re-join them on the boat where Gabe turns out to be ok but Fiona is left unsettled. When they return to their room Fiona takes a turn for the worse; the stress getting all too much to bare and she pushes Gabe away.
Fiona is slowly losing her fight to stay afloat and when an urgent email from the lab forces her to travel home, her fears intensify. Now in completely different places Gabe and Fiona draw even further apart. Fiona’s troubles worsen, and just when things seemed all too much, it gets a whole lot worse. With Gabe inaccessible whilst he relaxes on the island, she’s completely on her own and decisions must be made. But can she handle the backlash when he finds out what she’s done?
A truly superb series and each instalment just gets better and better! The drama is just so intense and I’m really routing for these guys to get it together in the end. And what a cliffhanger! Seriously can’t wait for the grand Slipperless finale!
Fiona is not used to Gabe's way to push her out of her comfort zone, she knows she must change her ways she just wished he would see her way for one minute. Fiona knows her heart is on the line since Gabe will never love her the way she does. But how far will he pushed her and will he be able to get her back? Gabe knows this is crucial for Fiona to step out of her comfort zone and that is the reason he is pushing her to the limit but would he pushed to far?
Fiona will face her worse fears with and without Gabe and she will be the only one that will rescue her or will she let him give her the shoulder she needs to cry, the helping hand she will need from this day forward?
Holy smokes Fiona and Gabe's journey gets more intense by the minute. I was not too happy with how Fiona was showing her strength but Gabe really did it this time. He is not my favorite person right now and I just hope he can step up to the plate when the last installment comes around.
If you have not met this hot alpha then you are missing one crazy wild ride. Fiona and Gabe will leave you spinning in your spot. I recommend this book and series for you.
After an awful cliffhanger at the end of #3, Fiona and Gabe share some hot times on the yacht. Too soon after, Fiona heads back to the lab to redo some research that didn't go well. Fiona is turning away from Gabe, not trusting him that he has genuine feelings for her. With her Grandma's impending death, Fiona is feeling alone and anxious and second guessing her job, relationship and her future.
Gabe gives her the benefit of the doubt time and time again. This reader is getting rather fed up with Fiona's immaturity and wish she could wake up and smell the coffee. Gabe spends extra time alone on the island, to find his own peace, and makes a decision: "There was no need to be so driven and utterly intense all the time."
Somehow, some way, she'd managed to get under my skin, and now what it felt like to miss her was something very unfamiliar to me."
"It's one thing to mentally prepare yourself for the worst-case scenario, but its something else entirely to have to deal with it in real life." Fiona
Waiting patiently for the final chapter in Fiona and Gabe's story.
OMG woman are you seriously trying to kill me here… good thing I <3 you !!
So this picks up where book 3 ended….Its a must to read these in order… SO I seriously love these two Characters but at the same time they both frustrate the ever loving hell out of me… The stress of everything is finally getting to Fiona.. Her grandmothers impending death, Work issues, GABE.. Yes I felt for her but there were time I was just really wanted to shake her.. Yell at her.. Come on Fiona he feels the same way about you.. Don’t give up.. just talk to him… please… Gabe.. Yes he made some very rash decisions.. emotional decisions.. and obviously he regretted them.. he is trying to rectify that.. He can be very hard headed.. (what male can’t be).. I am soooo ready for the final installment of this series… I hope these two get the HEA that I think they deserve..
I was given Slipperless #4 by:Sloan Storm free for my honest review. WOW! What a great continuing 3rd installment! Drama drama drama! all through the book. This story has me on the edge, becuse it has so much emotions; Fiona my heart goes out to her...sniff sniff. How can a woman as intelligent as her not express herself better? I get it no experience. I love the way Sloan has me the reader challenging Fiona to be stronger. Yes I have yelled at Fiona several times in this installment. I am not ashamed to admit it. Sloan just has a way of writing that just make me want to interact with her character. I'm loving it. I love the way Sloan makes me think the story is going one way then it totally goes another. I thought I could predict the outcome, but I was soooo wrong. Can't wait for the next installment. Thank you Sloan Storm for the advance read.
As Gabe and Fiona's journey to finding love with each continues you come to tears. Get the tissues out everyone cause this installment will have you balling your eyes out in so many places. Heck get a case of tissues and lest we not forget the screaming towel.
I would like to yell at Fiona at times and tell her come on already you can do it girl. You just have to take every day as it comes and be strong for you the world doesn't need you to be strong but you need to be so you can let the sunshine in and let the love that is right in-front of you be embraced.
Tension is at an all time high. Gabe needs Fiona to make this presentation the best it can be. Fiona is smart but she has concerns about speaking in public. Moreover, she discovers some issues with the lab causing a major setback with Gabe's new product. In the midst of this Fiona's grandmother has taken a turn for the worse. The one remaining family member Fiona has. Will Gabe be there to lend support and comfort? Does he know how crushed Fiona is? Slipperless 4 broke my heart. Fiona is an emotional wreck and has the weight of the world on her shoulders. Will she be able to recover? Will Gabe be there if she falls?
Fiona’s grandmothers days are numbered. She has shut out Gabe and returns home. She is not able to handle the stress of work, Gabe and her grandmother. I feel for her but at the same time I kind of was irritated at Fiona. Was she that blind not to see how Gabe was acting around her. She needs to put on her big girl panties and take thing head on. But, nope she takes the coward way out. Yeah I may sound harsh but she was really getting on my nerves in the part. That cliffhanger geez. Now I haven to wait patiently for the fifth installment.
I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 4 in the series and needs to be read in order. We pick up right where we left off in book 3. Fiona and Gabe are at St Barths, for the presentation, when Fiona receives word from the lab. She races off to try to fix the problem, leaving Gabe to deal with the fallout from the presentation not being ready. When Fiona gets home, she has some tough choices to make, which could mean not only the end of her relationship with Gabe but also her career.
This book has a lot of emotions running high between Fiona and Gabe. They are on their retreat and waiting to make the presentation when there is news of a setback in the lab. Fiona must fly back in order to help with the experiment. During this time she gets some sad information pertaining to her grandmother. What will she do now between trying to be with her grandmother and working in the lab it's just too much for her. Will Gabe be understanding and by her side or will he leave her absolutely alone?
This series is gets better and better with every instalment. My love hate relationship with Gabe continues. Fiona is getting stronger but still has a long way to go. Their relationship is so volatile, it's a constant roller coaster. I do a feel for Fiona, no one should gave to go through what she's gone through. I can't wait to see how it will all end! I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.
As book 3 left off we did not know if Gabe was ok diving for Fiona's bracelet during the worried start feeling are realized. When a unexpected problem comes up taking Fiona away from the presentation she has another expected yet unexpected circumstance come up that puts everything behind. Gabe tries to be there for Fiona at this time. things are said feelings are hurt that ends up with another cliffhanger that makes you want more.
What to say...Gabe woke up lol Fiona is getting a hard time, between personal and professional life she can't catch a break and she is caving. Gabe is being patient time and time again, but then he snaps and his decision could cost them both everything. There is another cliffy and I really can't wait to read part 5.
My god Fiona is a pain in the ass. Just fucking let Gabe talk. You know nothing you stupid girl. I feel so sorry for Gabe having to put up with her shit all the time. I hope she gets less annoying in the next book.
gabe your horrible man. Poor feona you just have to give your heart to her and he thinks she's not strong she is very brave. just love this story though. I need more please.
Well well! Ladies take a seat because a new-ish, or maybe not, author is in town and taking the throne for erotic serial romances. I dig these type of books as they build so much fire and suspense that captivates you as the series progresses only to blow you out by the end.
And this series.... HOT HOT HOT! I love it so far. It is sexy, sweet, sinfully delicious, naughty, tempting, intense, and edgy. When I started this series, it grabbed me and reeled me in. And as each book passes, the steam and suspense build making me crave the answers and the happy ending I am hoping for. Get ready as the end is near for Gabe and Fiona!
This is the fourth installment of Fiona and Gabe's story. Picking up where book three left off, Gabe's fate is still a mystery. And as the presentation nears, Fiona doesn't know if she can get through it. Gabe and Fiona are like fire and ice together, constantly fighting but with so much passion. And when obstacles are put into their paths and problems arise, will they be able to make it through or will their passion fizzle out? Only time will tell and with only one installment left... it is bound to get down and dirty!
I like Gabe and Fiona together. They have tons of chemistry and fire between them. Gabe is a mixture of sex and sin. He is totally bad but feels oh so good. And Fiona, I can relate to her hard so she is someone I can totally admire. I am loving the bits of confidence that shines through as each book progresses. I am rooting for these two. I am chomping at the bit for the next installment.
You can't but feel the pain and uncertainty pouring from Fiona. She simply has no choice, even though she spent some good days with Gabe, reality comes crashing in: the Link Protocol is showing some odd results, the presentation in front of the investors is not a slam dunk, and to make matters worst, Fiona's grandmother is admitted in the hospital. A choice has to be made because quite frankly, Fiona just can't spread herself even thinner - she takes an authorized leave of absence that could literally ruin her dreams, get her fired and even find herself in the streets from the overwhelming amounts of debts incurred from medical bills. Question remains, will Fiona lose Gabe forever in her grief? Will she return to Hawkins corporation? And even more important: will the debts prove to be her undoing?
Just as the fourth book finishes, my heart is still racing and I find myself looking for nothing through my ereader in case I got lucky in receiving the fifth part. Since the beginning, Sloan Storm's characters have been relatable, her story truthful without 'the fairy tale ending', and especially, each part starting off exactly where the last ended, making it important, if not necessary, to read the entire series one after the other. Another great story, from an amazing write, and especially, problems, both personal and business, that we, as readers, can relate to
Arghhhh these two characters are frustrating me! Gabe is continuing to be an arrogant douche, in fact I’m struggling like mad to find a redeeming quality in him at all!
Fiona is frustrating me to the point of wanting to cuff her around the ear! Come on Fiona! Stick up for yourself, Gabe has not treated you well at all! And you deserve to be!
I loved the ending, though I actually wanted her to take a different route but I do like her stipulation. Now let’s see how well that pans out eh.
There is something about the writing that has me puzzling a bit, it’s keeping me from absolutely loving this series, I’m not sure if it’s the brush over of conversations because it’s panning the same timeline or what, I have to say that Fiona is not a person I would hang around with in real life, she is frustrating to say the least, she seems to think one thing and then do another, and ahhhh lightbulb moment, that could be what is red flagging me a bit. I think Gabe’s personality could be dealt with a little deeper, he’s coming across to me as a very selfish arrogant twat and I wouldn’t give him the time of day either. Yet I AM in need to know what’s going to happen to them.
So it’s onwards to book 5 and hopefully the conclusion to their rocky romance. I am enjoying this series to a point and I am certainly invested in it still and have the need to know feeling about it all.
I received a copy of Slipperless 4 in return for an honest review, my reviews are my own and are 100% honest.
If the ending of Part Three left you breathless, then the ending of Part Four will leave you questioning everything!
This book was a defiantly a turning point for everyone! Fiona's life takes a tale spin that left me in tears. Gabe's reaction is par for the course, although he has feeling for her, his business his is main focus. And when Fiona thinks life can't get any worse, Gabe goes and does something drastic.
Now our two lovers are at an impasse, can they work through and regain their passion filled relationship? Can they continue to work together for the Protocol and all the good it will do? Or as Gabe just thrown away his best employees and the woman of his dreams?
I am seriously in love with these two!! They are both strong willed individuals that sometimes let their heads control their hearts. Their relationship has had many ups and downs, but can't help believing they belong together. Fiona has opened up a little more, but since she's keeping her true feelings secret, she is appearing a bit standoffish to Gabe. On the other hand, Gabe is also keeping his feelings to himself, but then again his head is trying to convenience him that his heart is wrong. The back and forth of Gabe and Fiona's relationship is caustic, but oh so thrilling. I can't wait to see how things turn out for one of my favorite couples.
Oh boy - that cliffie from book three was a doozy, right? With Fiona back on solid ground and any perceived personal danger to her and Gabe out of the way she still has a difficult time relaxing. When an urgent email comes through about the data for the presentation being wrong and realizing that further lab time is needed the entire business is now in jeopardy. When the proverbial poop hits the fan can Fiona get the lab work done in time to appease the already impatient investors? Will gabe continue to have faith in her ability or will this be the straw that breaks them apart? Things go downhill fast with no sign of looking up. Will love win out in the end?
I'm so glad I got the chance to read/review this gem and can't wait to get my grubby hands on the last novella in this series... Slipperless 5.
I'm still reeling from all the madness in this episode. Drama, desperate love, profound loss, you name it and it's here in spades.
I'm still not sure if my love/hate relationship with this story is healthy! I love the beautiful lovemaking between Gale and Fiona, and the stimulating work situation and the outcomes that are hinted at.
All goes to hell in this part 4 of the series. Tragedy strikes at the most inconvenient of times and jeopardizes both business and romance.
The confusing side is that they still seem unable to communicate to solve their problems, to bond into a significant trust. They go crazy at each other. She won't say what she's really feeling, preferring to isolate herself. And he's as selfish and demanding as ever. Sometimes I felt like punching them both in the guts. Everything looks broken and beyond hope, which makes the story so dramatic to read. The very ending was incredibly intense and promising.
I only have one request for the authors who have this habit. Please, don't use the characters' names in every line of the dialogue. It's utterly annoying. Pretty please? :o)
Wow the plot thickens! I was so caught up that I didn't see the end coming. I had my reservations about Fiona but who knew she could do all she has done. She is starting to grow on me, and wow Gabe keeps getting better and better as a book boyfriend. With each page, you will keep falling in love with him. I love the story line, it's not like others where the girl meets boy, falls in love and have HEA. Gabe and Fiona struggle daily with their relationship.
Fiona is still struggling with work and home life. She knows how important her work is but at the same time she needs to be home with her grandmother. When unexpected turn of events, can Fiona choose between getting the break through or will she choose to be at her grandmothers side?
Gabe is hoping Fiona can fix the problems at work but he doesn't have a clue that she is making a difficult decision. Can he help her before its to late?
Sloan, you have written another beautiful piece to this story and I can't wait to read the conclusion of Fiona and Gabe.
