Finding Focus: A Friends to Lovers Romantic Comedy (Finding Focus Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
Is a quarter-life crisis a thing?
After accepting a freelance job in Louisiana for Southern Style magazine, she feels the bleakness of her life back in New York fading in the rearview mirror. Getting back to her southern roots seems to be just what she needs to lift her spirits and spark her creativity. During her stay, she meets playboy Micah Landry and his colorful family. She knows she should avoid him and keep things professional, but his southern charms are hard to resist.
Through the lens of her camera, she finds the beauty and soul of the Landry Plantation, but it’s her beauty and soul that capture Micah’s attention.
When an unexpected phone call takes her back to New York, she’s forced to face the life she was trying to escape head on.
Will her trip and the Landrys only become fond memories, or will Dani find her way back to them and her beloved south?
In their debut novel, Jiffy Kate bring you a story of love, adventure, and finding a place to call home.

- Reviewed in Australia on 13 December 2018Was an enjoyable story though I do like a bit more heat on my books. It was more of a sweet style book than a hot romance but still enjoyable

Verified PurchaseWhat a great introduction to the Landry family through the eyes of Dani. I loved nearly all the characters in this - and those I didn't love, I loved to hate. Great storytelling - who doesn't love a girl who can turn the head and win the heart of the local ladies man and make him change his ways?

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing series and WELL written!
Verified PurchaseI am just starting the 3rd book, Fighting Fire and would give all 3 books 5 stars so far. These books are written by two authors and these ladies have done an amazing job. There are NO discrepancies in one book to another. The facts and events are the same from one book to the next. Lately, I have read books that get events/facts mixed up and that is by one author and in the same book. I am from NOLA and lived in Baton Rouge for many years. Jiffy Kate are true to the culture and area.
As for the story line, it is about 2 brothers and their family. There is a slight amount of drama, more of a sweet romance. Deacon and Micah (Tucker too) are amazing book boyfriend material! Their ladies are feisty, sure of themselves and know how to handle their men. One book flows into the next. I recommend you read them in order, but not a must.
I look forward to reading Jiffy Kate’s French Quarter Collection next! Ladies keep writing!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun. Steamy. Sweet.
Verified PurchaseEasy to read and the world the writer(s) built was vivid and realistic.
The intent of this review isn't to tell you what the story is about. It's to let you know what you might like about this book.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun sweet love story. Micah is everything you want in a bad boy turned love struck hero. It reminds me of a Jill Shalvis novel but with more cursing and more detailed sex scenes.
Dani as a protagonist is smart and strong. Nothing annoyed me about her which, for some romantic novels, is hard to come by.
There's a few well written steamy sexy moments that will make you fan yourself.
The cons, I would have liked a more fleshed out supporting characters. Deeper storylines for them.
Also, the love story could have wrapped up sooner. We knew both Dani and Micah liked each other because of the duel POV. Because of this, I felt like the ending dragged out a bit. It makes me wonder if it might have been better in a single POV because there's mystery and suspense there. You wouldn't know if Micah had the same feelings until he actually said so. As much as I loved seeing the world through his eyes, the book didn't actually need his side of things, in my opinion.
That aside, it's an fast read. Fun. Steamy. Sweet.
