I read the first chapter of this book when it was advertised at the end of another novel I was reading on my Kindle. It sparked my interest and I really don't know why because I am ttotal and a book about booze would not be my thing! There was absolutely no indication that it was a trilogy. So imagine my frustration when I got to the end and it wasn't the end. Well I couldn't put the first book down so I was almost hyperventilating searching Amazon for book two and there I found book three as well (phew!) I don't like hot and cold she loves me he doesn't love me romances, I'm not interested in in booze but this trilogy gripped me from the start and I really couldn't put them down. I do like an author who is talented enough to make you feel all the emotions even the deeper ones. So this author has the talent. There is just one thing.... in the first novel the main male character reveals he has a secret stash of food and explains it makes him feel safe because there was a time when he had no food at all! That was never explained why in any of the books and I want to know why? Why did a man who came from a wealthy background , for a short period of time not have any food at all to eat?????

Excellent book. Interesting story and plot. Only just over a 100 pages so very annoyed about the cliff hanger and it being a Trilogy. Each book only just only over a 100 pages so could actually just have been one book. Also not available on Kindle unlimited. Cost not commensurate with pages.

This is not what I was expecting at all. I loved it.

Ally is trying to make her way in what's considered mans world. And Hunter is a CEO that seems like he has a few secrets.

    I can't wait for book 2.

Although I doubt I could forgive Hunter for what he does at the end.

Felt conned into buying part 2 because I quite liked the story but it's not 3 books . One book split into 3 parts to eek out your money. Didn't bother with part 3. Liked the characters. Usually like the authors stories.

I seriously enjoyed reading this series! There was just enough angst to keep it interesting...the romantic interludes didn't hurt either. I went through the three books without stopping. ..who needs sleep when they work 12 hour days? Well written, great character development, fast paced storyline...I now have another favorite author. Great job MS Lila!

4.0 out of 5 stars The story was addictive and left me wanting more!!

I picked this one up after reading the blurb, but I didn’t pay attention to the cover where it says Part One… so it turns out that it’s part of a serial… oh well, I gave it a try anyway. It turned out to be a pretty good read for my first Lila Monroe read.

It began with Allison (Ally) tasting bourbon in a bar, as part of research for the ad campaign she is working on. A handsome stranger comes over and before she knows it, she’s taking a chance and they are heading back to her room. I could see this encounter was going to bite her in the butt… but it was amusing none-the-less! Soon she’s working with this stranger and fighting her attraction because she wants to succeed with this campaign and make a name for herself.

I liked how Ally was driven and didn’t allow her feelings to intrude on her professional life. You can see that she is very attracted to Knox, but feeling like a nobody in the past has made her determined to make this campaign a success. She’s treated poorly in her workplace, and there are a lot of jerks on the sidelines just waiting for her to fail. There were a few moments between Ally and Knox where she would let her guard down, and I could see the heat rising between them, but she was quick to back away.

The ending though, kind of broke both Ally and myself, and reminded me why serials annoy me at times! The story was great, but nowhere near long enough, and they end abruptly leaving you hanging for more. It was an addictive beginning to the series, and I felt that the author did a great job building the world and hooked to the characters. If you are looking for a short read, with plenty of flirting and fun, definitely try this one!

You know when you start to check the percentage or page number. Then beg the Universe that by some off chance there's more left than what you actually have left. And finally you've resigned to thinking "I'll be okay. I'll get through this". But it ends...and you are not okay, you will not get through this, and why does 17 days sound like an eternity all of a sudden.

This book is packed with refreshing humor and sexual tension so thick Emeril Lagasse wouldn't be able to cut through it.

Allison Bartlett is giving herself one last chance to prove that she can fit into the "old boys" club. Determined, she sets out to make her pitch unique and more importantly one that won't be brushed aside simply because she's a woman. But, for a task as original as the one Ally has in mind the research has to be just as innovative. She was supposed to be focused on the task at hand, but that's hard to do when the sexy stranger from the bar is suddenly standing at her table.

Hunter Knox; proud CEO, heir to the Knox family business, guarded, oh and he's Ally's mystery man from the bar...who she somewhat slept with.

Working together shouldn't be hard. Right? With so much on the line for them both the decision should be easy: focus on the job. But the best laid plans.....
