Slide (Black Addiction Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 394 ratings

Touring as an opening act for a huge rock band and landing a record contract means you’ve hit the big time, right?

Sadly, neither of those things gave Rusty Crawford, lead guitarist of the band Black Addiction, worldwide fame and fortune. Which was a shame because he had the lifestyle down to a fine art—without the clichéd stint in rehab.

Even being back in the Bronx, paying his dues didn’t rattle the charismatic axe man, ladies loved him and men wanted to be him. Fate would just have to catch up. Seemed like fate had more than just a platinum album planned for his future.

Alison Williams had the perfect life. Or at least she did until her world came crashing down around her, in the most epic way.

With her future no longer a certainty she finds herself out of her comfort zone and into unchartered territory—a place where Rusty Crawford likes to spend most of his time.

Will the charming and ridiculously hot rock god help her find her feet, or send her further down the rabbit hole?

One thing was for sure; both of them were in for the ride of their lives.

T Gephart is a USA Today and International bestselling author from Melbourne, Australia.

With an approach to life that is somewhat unconventional, she prefers to fly by the seat of her pants rather than adhere to some rigid roadmap. Her lack of "plan" has resulted in a rather interesting and eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history. She'd tell you all about it, but the statute of limitations hasn't expired yet. But all those crazy twists and turns have led her to a career she loves—writing romantic comedy.

When she isn't filling pages with sassy and sexy characters with attitude, she's living her own reality show in the 'burbs of Melbourne with her American husband, two teenage children, and her fur child—Woodley.

She loves adventure, to laugh, travel, and strives to live her life to the fullest.

Loved this book! Even though it's not your typical rockstar book had all the ingredients I needed! I love how this author writes and read loads of her books and will most def continue in the future!! The male protagonist Rusty is ur typical rockstar bedding all the women he can bt what isn't usual is the fact he is a genuinely nice guy!! Enter Allison who has a whole world of problems that just keep getting worse! Their relationship starts as teacher a pupil bt leads to more interesting encounters! I loved the easy banter in this book, was a really enjoyable read! Would def recommend! Xx

Rusty has it all: great looking, sexy, solvent, his band doing well and on the verge of big success, additionally generous and kind. What woman wouldn't want him?
Allison has nothing: good looking, low self esteem, a boyfriend of 2 years who has kept their relationship secret because the company they both work for disapproves of employees being involved, she is sure he is about to propose that they move in together or even marry. She is wrong, everything is about to get worse.
    Worlds collide.
Told from 2 points of view.

Slide is book #1 in the Black Addiction Series. I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

I want to start off by saying this book is funny, like really bl@@dy funny!!

Above everything else that’s what I will remember about this book. I love a book that can make me laugh and this story had a slapstick Bridget Jones feel to it and I was laughing aloud to myself the whole way through.

Alison is your classic bumbling, unlucky in love heroine. She has no idea how pretty she is and has incredibly low self-esteem.

Honestly I hate this stereotypical character I’ve read it and seen it on the TV and films far too many times before. Alison’s saving grace is her banter; once she gets going the verbal diahorrea that she spouts is hilarious and full of brilliant one liners.

Rusty is like the Yoda of this book, he’s wise beyond his years and absolutely adorable. He does a pretty drastic 180 from manwhore to committed boyfriend in about 3 pages but I sort of jumped on the band wagon because they did have some chemistry.

The sex in this book is hot and at times incredibly silly

The antics were hilarious and despite the story being a tad predictable I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Slide gets 4 stars from me.

This book was one of T Gepharts best I thought Joey's story was my favourite but this is running a close second. Loved rusty and though things moved a bit quick was still realistic. I actually laughed out loud when he came home to find Ali high. Can't wait for the next instalment hopefully Mac's story.

I am a huge fan of the authors Lexi and Power Station series, and I couldn't wait to get stuck into a brand new series. Don't worry though, as much as it is a new series from the author she still retains some links to her previous books.

We met Rusty previously in the last of the Power Station books, Back Stage. The band he is part of, Black Addiction, ended up touring with Power Station. This book is his story, and that of Alison.

The storyline was great. Can a leopard truly change his spots or is that leopard destined to live forever tainted by his past? This story will prove, or disprove, that theory once and for all.

Rusty is a brilliant character. He has many different layers to him and we follow Alison as she tries to peel those layers from him in an attempt to find the person underneath.

As per usual from this author there are plenty of sex scenes in this story. All are well written, they don't become too 'samey' and I actually read them for a change. What I mean by that is that I have read so many sex scenes in books I tend to skip past them as they seem to be similar all the time. But those in this story I did read.

I have come to expect the best from this author and this book did not disappoint. I can't wait to read more from her.

Amazing! I honestly cannot think of a better word to use to describe the masterpiece that is "Slide". I honestly could not put this book down and have been doing a lot of things one handed just so that I didn't have to. It's very hard to eat a steak one handed. Just saying. It had me laughing and at one point, i let out a gasp, hand over my mouth and wide eyed.

Slide is the story of Rusty and Alison. Rusty, the guitarist for Black Addiction was never one for anything more then a one night stand. Ali, having been in a relationship with a man who had kept it secret for two years and was also her boss, found her world turned upside down when the rug was pulled from under her. Ali soon realised that maybe things happen for a reason. She wasn't as happy in her job as she once thought to be decided it was time to change things up. Rusty, met the girl who would change his life.

How long before the rug gets pulled from under them again? Will they have a happy ending? Can they survive whatever hits come their way? Slide into their story and find out!

Rusty... gah damn, I thought I loved him in his first appearance in Backstage, but now I KNOW I love him. So darn sexy and sweet.

I also love Alison, she was easy to relate to and had me laughing out loud several times (beads and brownies anybody? Lol.) I loved her growth and self discovery through the story. I loved these two as a couple and how they balanced each other out.

4.0 out of 5 stars This was a good book.

This was a good book.. Apparently it is a spin off from another series, didn't know that when I picked it up, still, it didn't affect anything.

The two main characters are Alison Williams, a down on her luck paralegal, and Rusty Crawford, the hot lead guitarist of the band Black Addiction.

Rusty is what you'd expect him to be. The almost perfect rocker guy with everything(and everyone) he wants falling at his feet. But, I don't think he can be labeled as a "bad boy" at all.

Alison, I wanted to strangle sometimes because of her insecurity (of course), and over dramatization.

The plot was very simple.. Nothing overly dramatic happened except for one thing that was Alison's "damage". The relationship was kinda weird because it was a little too fast - not really insta love, but things escalated a little too fast in this book. Rusty was a little too perfect, which didn't allow for any real drama from his side (read: actions). There were some moments when I burst out laughing thanks to Alison getting herself into awkward situations. In the end, everything that felt off while reading it came together and I ended up enjoying the book.

T Gephart is an excellent writer. Slide was fast paced, the story line was a great off shoot from the Power Station book series. The story was, happily; quite realistic. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yum Rusty!

I've read tons of Rocker book. I'm addicted and gobble them up as fast as I find them. Most portray the rocker as an ass. This one is very different. Like most, Rusty is a total man whore with a huge ego when Alison first starts following him but he is always kind to the women he hooks up with and he's never an ass. When he meets Alison she has lost her boyfriend/boss, her job and her apartment. He offers to let her use his spare room until she gets back on her feet and the fun begins. I laughed out loud in several places. This is a cute, funny, sexy, sweet read. I adored Rusty and some of the things Alison did/said cracked me up. This is one of my favorite books from Ms. Gephart. I can't wait for book 2 in this series.
