    This is the first book (well set of books) I have read by a male author in this genre and I'm so glad to have found Jacob Chance. In a female-dominated industry, Jacob writes as well as all my fave one-click authors ❤️ And the Quake Duet is a perfect introduction to Jacob's work.

    In Quake - book one - we meet Kyle and Janny. We learn a great deal about the leads in a short space of time and the side-plot of Kyle's investigation into Janny's brother Brian makes for some tense, drama filled scenes. Kyle and Janny have some off the charts chemistry and their steamy scenes together will have you squirming as you read 😉

    “Am I right for you?” I ask, my voice sounding hoarse to my own ears. Her eyes rise from her plate to meet mine and I swear I can almost see the sexual tension flowing between us. “That remains to be seen.”

    Thank goodness that I got this as a duet because the cliffhanger at the end of Quake just about killed me!!

    Quiver - book two - picks up where Quake left off. And there's not too much I can say without spoiling this book or the end of Quake. Just be prepared for some gut wrenching, heart breaking moments 💔 but also some truly magnificent character development and a great sense of love and hope.

    These two novellas - like most - have abrupt and sudden endings with plots wrapped up (fairly) neatly. This wasn't a bad thing as the good stuff in these books outweighs this. In saying that, I know realise that Jacob has written stories about the main secondary characters introduced in the Quake Duet - so I've now one-clicked all of those ready to read!!

    "So, you’re always prepared?” I question. He leans in and kisses me on the forehead before staring into my eyes, his expression now thoughtful. “I wasn’t prepared for you.”

    wow what a pleasant surprise. Unexpected twists and turns, hot chemsitry between Kyle and Janny and the steamy scenes will have you reahing for a glass of wine and you lose yourself in this fantastic book.

    Quake & Quiver are Jacob Chance's first books that he has written and I can honestly say I've read the books several times but that didn't stop me from buying the boxed set. Plus, it had more to read and how Kyle & Janny are doing these days. I've often worried about them two, so I was glad to finally find out.

    The thing I enjoyed so much about this story was it wasn't just a love story with lots of sex scenes, it had had some excitement as well and I'm not talking about more sex scenes. Nope, these books had a bit of thriller going on, which is what made these books so exciting to me. It's starts out with a "no freaking way" kind of a moment, and that is one of the main reads it kept me reading and wanting to know more.

    If you need or must want to know more about these books, then I suggest picking up your copy now. I mean really you couldn't ask for a better price. Also, make sure to check out Jacob Chsnce's other books. Each one is great and you'll also see how much he has grown as an author. Never the same and always different.

    This was the first book(s) I read from Jacob Chance. I was impressed. I loved his style of writing and really enjoyed Kyle and Janny's story. There was a lot of great plot twists, that I never saw coming. Both Quake and Quiver were intriguing to the point where I read through both of them in a day. I could not put them down. Once I finished them, I went and purchased the rest of his works. I am really excited to see how the rest of the character's lives turn out. I like that in order to get the most out of his stories you should read them in order, but they are stand alones. Amazingly Talented Author who has a new follower for life!

    I read the Quake/Quiver duet with extended epilogue.

    I couldn't put it down. I started it & couldn't stop until I was done & it was very early in the morning. I enjoyed it very much until the end. It would have been 5 ⭐️ but the end made me take away points.
    In Quake we get to know Kyle & Janny. Kyle is a PI on a case for Janny's sister in law when he sees Janny on a surveillance camera & desires her. Thankfully they meet by coincidence & get to know one another. Their relationship makes my heart swell & their passion makes my temperature rise but their secrets & obstacles could tear them apart.
    In Quiver, Kyle's biggest secret finally catches up with them & threatens to tear them apart for good. My heart fell, I teared up and clutched my chest the pain was so real. There's also another antagonist introduced that builds the suspense.
    It does end with an HEA for Kyle & Janny and I love extended epilogue's because I like it when the story is buttoned up & you get see a 'where are they now'. BUT the new antagonist plot just dropped off & left me saying What The? I still plan to read more of Jacobs works because I really like his stuff & maybe one of those will button it up for me but until I get there I'll keep saying What The? For this one.
