Oh, Hayes, you one dreamy son-of-a-gun. He’s such a swoon-worthy dreamboat, and so smitten by Arden that I found him quite endearing at the lengths he’d go to in order to prove to Arden that he’d do anything to get on her good grace and convince her to, well, take a chance (yes, that was a pun).

(It’s probably just me, but there’s nothing I like more than a hero who ends up so smitten by the heroine that he’s willing to go to whatever lengths necessary to prove that he was the one for her. And Hayes nailed it, with his endearing and cheesy ways.)

”You know,” he smiled sheepishly, “I haven’t put this much effort into impressing a girl in… well, a long time.”
I laughed. “Is that a good thing or a bad thing?”
“Good, definitely good.” He nodded. “It means I care enough about you to try.”

I know he’s the “player” of Willow Creek, and the last of the group to end up with a significant other—but lordy lord, the more I got into this book—the more adorable Hayes is. I can totally understand why so many fans want to sink their claws into him.

“Dream about me tonight.”
When I opened my eyes he was gone, but the imprint of his lips still lingered on mine.

Hayes was… he was everything. Sweet, sincere, goofy, dorky, crush-worthy, swoon-worthy, and so much more? And the fact that he has a reputation that precedes him as a player, but managed to fall smitten to our heroine—icing on the cake.

Hayes and Arden were just… sweet.

For our protagonist, Arden, she guards her heart heavily with wariness after her husband practically abandoned her with their child. This forced her to put her dreams aside and do whatever it takes to make a living for her child. She’s a strong, selfless person who puts her daughter Mia before herself.

It’s why she refused to explore the idea of there being something more between Hayes and Arden. But Hayes refused to push aside the fact that there’s something between the two of them. They might have shared one night together, but there’s something more there between the two of them. And he’s not going to give up without a fight.

Throughout the entire Willow Creek series, Hayes had remained a mystery to me. Since book one, we’ve got insight on the twins and their past. We’ve got insight on their relationship with Ezra. But Hayes was barely mentioned in book one, and was mentioned even less in book 2. I was ecstatic to see that he had a slightly bigger role in book 3, which gave me enough information about him to make me excited to read his book. And gosh, I’m so happy this book didn’t disappoint.

Watching Arden learn to trust another person and let another person into her heart was beautiful, just as watching Arden’s and Hayes’ relationship grow into something more. While there was chemistry between the two from the very start, and the two of them had a sweet and fluffy relationship—it was beautiful to witness the growth that occurred between their relationship and their characters overall.

I love how sweet Hayes was to Mia, and how adorable Mia was. Christ, what an adorable toddler.

Hayes is… entertaining. He’s funny. He’s goofy. He’s a comic relief. He’s balanced between both sweet and sexy. Compared to Maddox’s outgoing behavior, Ezra’s sweet and shy nature, and Matthias’ introvert and broody persona—he was quite a breath of fresh air. Add in the fact that most NA books tend to have love interests that are either: broody, angsty and sad or sweet/outgoing/best-friend vibe, he was refreshing.

Each book of Willow Creek series has a different and original take on the romance. For Maddox and Emma, it’s about two people falling in love with their first loves.
For Matthias and Remy, it’s about two people who learn to love again (second chances).
For Ezra and Sadie, it’s about two best friends who fall in love.
And for Hayes and Arden, it’s about the process of putting their hearts on the line and risk it all for a chance of something more.

The ending was so sweet! It wrapped things up nicely, and I found myself swooning at how adorable everything was. I’m so sad Willow Creek is wrapped up with this book. This book, by far, is one of Smeltzer’s best work as to date.

The final book in the Willow Creek is here! The feels have hit me hard because I do not want to say goodbye to these characters :'( Micalea Smeltzer has become a favorite author for a reason and it's because her books, especially this series, always have amazing characters that one can relate to and also very funny characters. This last book went out with a bang. My favorite thing about it is that it wasn't just focused on the romance, but it was focused on Hayes, Arden and little Mia as a family.

Hayes has been a player for so long but all of his band mates have settled down with their own girlfriends/wives and Hayes can't help but feel lonely. Being the oldest of the band members, he realizes it is time to settle down before it is too late. Hayes and Arden met in In Your Heart and Hayes was awe-struck by the red-head and her daughter and all he wants is for Arden to take a chance on him. Hayes is the funniest character in this series. Well, he's kind of in competition with Maddox. Both are a handful and will get you to laugh in no time. I honestly want Hayes. His desire to have a family goes beyond anything in his life at this point. His love for Mia, someone who isn't his real daughter, will make you beg him to ditch Arden and be with you because he is a total gentleman to Arden and Mia. You guys should read the way he behaves with Mia—it's beautiful. I mean, the guy had a birthday and he invited Arden and Mia and held the party at Chuck E. Cheese's just so he could have fun but also Mia could be there. Let's just cry at how wonderful Hayes is. He needs to be real.

"I feel that Mia is very much mine. Yeah, maybe she's not my biological child, but as long as we're together she's my kid. And I'll take care of her just as much as I will you. I promise you that."

Arden is a spitfire. She has to be to protect herself and her daughter. Her husband fled when he found out Arden was pregnant with Mia, leaving her broken and vulnerable. Slowly, she started to build herself up for Mia until she reached the place where she could be okay again. Still, she keeps a wall around her heart so when Hayes arrives and starts crumbling those walls, Arden wonders if she should try to take a chance one last time. Arden is a wonderful mother, even when Mia tests her patience. I admire Arden because she raised Mia all on her own and she has still managed to stay strong through all of it. Her witty banter with Hayes was a light and fun touch to their romance and I was glad Hayes and Arden had found one another because they really balance each other out.

Maddox and Emma, Mathias and Remy with baby Liam, Ezra and Sadie have all joined this last installment in the series *throws confetti and dances*. This last book made me realize it's officially over and I won't be reading about these characters—except for the bonus scenes being written—anymore and it makes me sad. It's like I've lost a part of me. These characters really grew on me like no other and it pains me to say goodbye. This series has been an emotional roller-coaster since I have cried, laughed, gotten angry, laughed and cried some more. This is a series that I will never forget and the characters will forever live in my heart.

“Admitting you were afraid was one of the most difficult things to own up to as a human being. We were programmed to always say that we were fine or good–that showing fear is a sign of weakness. But it’s not. It’s one of the bravest things you can do to surrender that fear from yourself and place it into the open palms of someone else.”

Another amazing read!! Once again, Micalea Smeltzer has knocked my socks off. I fell in love with this series ever since I opened the first book. And with each book, the series just keeps getting better and better. I keep falling deeper and deeper in love with the characters. Take A Chance was no exception. Ever since I was first introduced to Hayes’ character, I’ve been dying to know more about him. This is his story.

Take A Chance follows the story of Arden and Hayes. Arden’s life has been anything but easy. She thought she had the perfect life, but she found out very quickly that her life was anything but. She never expected to find herself divorced, pregnant and alone. Fast forward three years and Arden finally is starting to move forward. She has a beautiful little girl and her life is good. Then she meets Hayes and he completely turns her world upside down. Hayes has the reputation of being a player and the type who just lives it up. However, looks can be pretty deceiving. From the moment Hayes laid eyes on Arden and her daughter, Mia, he has been captivated. He is addicted to them and wants to be a part of their life. Suddenly the bad boy is not wanting to be the bad boy anymore. Will Arden give Hayes the chance to prove that he is worth the risk? “Take a chance on me, Arden. I know it might not seem like it, but I’m a sure bet.” What will happen when a ghost from Arden’s past won’t go away? Will Arden and Hayes get the HEA they both deserve?

I absolutely loved Take A Chance. I fell in love with Hayes and Arden almost immediately. I completely understood the reservations that Arden had about getting involved with Hayes. Not only did he have a bad reputation that she had to worry about, but she worried about how dating would affect her daughter. Arden is an unbelievably strong woman. I admired how she was able to do everything on her own and how she always put her daughter first. Hayes was the first guy to really peak her interest since her ex left the picture. I was intrigued by Hayes and Arden and couldn’t wait to see how things would play out.

Hayes was totally swoon worthy. With lines like these: “Those lips were made to kiss mine” or “That night with you…It was fucking amazing, but one night will never be enough with you. Hell, I’m not even sure the rest of my life would be enough time to get my fill of you.” I knew I was done for. I was completely addicted to Hayes. He was nothing like I thought he would be.Yes, he was young and acted silly. But he cared deeply for the people in his life and loved them fiercely.

I loved the chemistry and connection that Hayes and Arden shared. It was instant, but felt very real. Being together was effortless. You couldn’t help yourself from rooting for the two of them. And I absolutely loved the way that Hayes was with Mia. That right there was enough for me. I mean, he always treated Mia like she was his and loved her with every fiber of his being. It was truly special.

Take A Chance was such a fantastic read. I am so sad that this series is now over, but Micalea Smeltzer gave me the best possible ending. I loved everything about this book. I was hooked from the first page and had the hardest time putting it down. It gave me everything that I was looking for and more. And I have to tell you, I love, love, loved the epilogue. It was amazing and brought tears to my eyes. Fans of this series, you will not be disappointed with Hayes and Arden!

Arden James is a single mother raising a four year old. Her husband left her when he found out she was pregnant. Her husband, Todd, was very abusive and never wanted children. She came home one day and he was gone. She was very relied when the divorce papers came through and she was finally free from him. Josh Hayes is a guitar player for the popular band Willow Creek. Arden had one wild night with Hayes and she left before he woke but she could never get him out of her mind. He kept calling and writing messages to her but she ignored them she didn't want another relationship she had to focus on her daughter. Hayes finally came to the store she worked at with her friend, Sadie who also was with a band member, to make her speak to him. She had forgotten how much he affected her and she agreed to go on one date before she made up her mind. One date was all it took. Hayes loved, Brianna her daughter, and she loved him. Arden couldn't believe one man could be as thoughtful and considerate as Hayes and he made her feel treasured and adored. He always told her how beautiful she was but then so did Todd before he became abusive. Can she trust again? Then Todd comes back in the picture? Now what? This is a very good story. It does contain profanity and sex scenes so it isn't for all

What an amazing and beautiful conclusion to the Willow Creek Series!

I’ve been holding off on reading this book, since I wasn’t ready for the series to end, but I knew I needed to read Hayes’ story and see him get his HEA, so I finally took the plunge and dived into this amazing book.

Arden and Hayes had built a great friendship throughout this series, and one night a few months ago had an amazing night together. Now Arden is ignoring him, and Hayes is doing everything he can to get her attention. When he finally convinces her to go out on a date with him, she agrees, thinking it will only be one, and she can go on with her life with her daughter, Mia. She never expected to fall as hard or as fast for Hayes as she did, but the way Hayes is with her and with Mia was too beautiful to not go all in with him.

For someone who hasn’t read this series, you may think that their relationship was very fast paced, but for those who’ve read the previous books about the other guys and their forever girls, you’ll know that this has been a long time coming. Hayes may be the goofball (well if you exclude Maddox) of the band, but his heart is full of love, and once he falls, he falls hard. The things this man says…. totally swoonworthy. He had me swooning in one sentence, and then laughing out loud the next. His character is the perfect blend of sweet, sexy, and romantic. The way he loves Arden and Mia, all I have to say is WOW!

Arden has had a rough life, we finally get the full story of her ex, and my heart broke for her and everything she has been through. She was perfectly happy in her life with just Mia, but after finally agreeing to be with Hayes she sees how much she was missing. Arden is stubborn, yet strong, and I totally loved her character. I wanted to strangle her for keeping things from Hayes, and then pull her in for a hug for the things she’s gone through. I adored her character and the love she has for her daughter.

Mia’s character totally steals some of the scenes in this book. She’s adorable, and hilarious, and just an amazingly written character. I loved how Micalea Smeltzer wrote Mia’s character and how I couldn’t help but fall in love with her. She’s an adorably sweet three year old, and when she asked Hayes was going to be her daddy, I wanted to cry. This little girl, along with her mother, deserves so much happiness, and I’m happy that they got it.

This book had some pretty awesome plot twists, but it’s not like you didn’t see them coming. I was on a high of happiness, then biting my nails wondering how things were going to turn out. No matter what happened though, Hayes never left Arden’s side, especially when things got rough, which only made me fall for him a little harder.

Take a Chance was the perfect ending to this amazingly written series. I was left happy and content with how each of the band members ended their stories and got their HEA’s. I’m glad that Hayes’ story was the last, as I think it may have been the best of all the books! If you haven’t read the Willow Creek series, you are definitely missing out. I highly recommend this series of stand-alone’s and can’t wait to dive into more of Micalea’s books ASAP!

As the title suggests, one must definitely take a chance with this series… It will really pay off for you. This is the last book of the Willow Creek series, and Micalea Smeltzer wrote it in such an honest, refreshing, romantic, hilarious, and overall amazing way.

I really loved the protagonist for this book. Arden has been through a lot in her life, so she’s afraid to love again, but she still finds a way to keep going thanks to her daughter. I loved how strong Arden was. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind or defend herself, and she was so smart and sassy. I also loved how well written her situation of a single mother was.
“She [daughter] was my world. She had been since the moment I knew she was growing inside me, and it would remain that way until I took my last breath.”

In this book, the love interest is Joshua Hayes, the guitarist of uber popular band Willow Creek. I love Hayes so much! He’s my favorite guy from the whole series. Hayes is a goofball. He always knows exactly how to make you smile, plus he’s incredibly thoughtful, sensitive, and gets along SO WELL with Arden’s daughter, Mia. (Isn’t there something extremely sexy about a guy who is sweet to kids?)
I [Arden] smiled. “So… are you going to feed me on this date or let me starve?”
“Baby, I’m a feast for your eyes, isn’t that enough?” He [Hayes] jested.

THE ROMANCE WAS PERFECT. They clicked together so incredibly well. I loved the way they just got each other. (Also, those sex scenes with them were incredibly steamy *fans self*) The best part is, their romance wasn’t riddled with angst and cliches. They were upfront and honest about how they felt about each other, no beating around the bush. We actually saw a lot of romance development because of this; we didn’t need to wait until one of them got to their senses because they already knew what they wanted: each other.

It was also fun to see appearances from the other characters in the series, and seeing that they had a real influence in the book. It was so entertaining to see how their lives were doing after their respective books ended.

Overall, this is a really bittersweet way to end the series. It made me laugh out loud multiple times (in the most inappropriate situations I might add), tear up, sigh, swoon, and fangirl. While I am completely satisfied with the way the series ended, I wish I could have more of my Willow Creek boys. Especially Hayes <3.

4.5 stars!

I just finished Take A Chance and I loved it. This is the final in the Willow Creek Series and it ended really well. This is Hayes and Arden's story. As you know Maddox, Mathias, Ezra and Hayes make up the band Willow Creek. Arden is Sadie's friend and co-worker and we met her in Sadie and Ezra's book. Hayes was already smitten when he met her but she is hesitant and has every reason to be. She has a little girl, 3 year old Mia and is divorced from a psycho/abusive ex husband so I totally get it. Hayes was also a playboy so its hard to take him seriously when he says he wants her, she cant just think about herself, she has her daughter to think about to but you cant help what the heart wants!

"The night we spent together had been one of the best of my whole life, but I was scared. Terrified, really, because what I felt for him was so potent that I knew if given the chance it could grow into something monumental."

Who doesnt want to be in love with a hot rock star? But I loved Hayes because he was sweet, caring, funny and damn, he could growl good!

"You're mine, Arden," he growled, pulsing inside me. "Not because I own you, but because you own me."

Be still my beating heart!

I enjoyed their chemistry, you could really feel it from the start. There are some obstacles in their way that I expected and I am ok with that. It brought alot of depth to their story, a togetherness that made it more relatable.

"You will never, not ever be a burden to me. And yes, this is still a new relationship for the both of us but when something's right it just is. Let it be and stop questioning every little thing. I'm here and I love you and I'm not going anywhere." He pressed his lips against my forehead tenderly. "I've waited a long time to give my heart to someone, and at times I never thought I would, but its yours Arden, and I never want it back."

If you haven't picked up the series, you really should. Even though these are stand alone books, you would get much more if you read them in order. I highly recommend it!

Hayes is like a big kid, he was so lovable. Mia stole the show that little girl was freakin' adorable, sweet and funny, and at her tender young age of three she knows what works for her, “duh, but dresses make me pwettier.” Hayes really understands that Mia will always come first in Arden's life, “don’t apologize.” He rubbed his hands up and down my arms. “Go. It’s okay.” He smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll just be over here taking a cold shower and jacking myself off.” This was a bittersweet read sweet because it was Hayes and we all knew his story was going to be good, but bitter because this is the end of the series. I really loved these boys and who knows maybe they'll be some novellas featuring them.

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Take A Chance is the final installment in the Willow Creek series. I am so sad to see this series come to an end. I loved getting to know each member of the band and the women that they fell in love with. Each member has their own unique story to tell. From first love, to second chances, to best friends falling for each other. And now it’s time for Hayes and Arden to find their own happily ever after. The bad boy of the band and the single mother who has a wall around her heart and whose main priority is her little girl. Micalea Smeltzer did not disappoint. As a matter of fact I feel like she saved the best for last. Because Joshua Hayes had my heart from the very beginning and may just be my favorite member of Willow Creek.

Hayes is known as the bad boy of the group, having a reputation with the ladies. But after spending some time with Arden he is completely smitten. And not just with Arden but her adorable little girl as well. He will do everything he can to prove to Arden that he has changed and no longer wants the lifestyle he used to live. He wants to settle down and will prove to her that it is worth taking a chance on him.

Arden is a single mother who loves her daughter more than anything in this world. Mia is her number one priority and she will do anything to protect her. Her ex husband left her while she was pregnant with Mia. But honestly she is better off without him, but regardless everything that happened with him has caused her to construct a wall around her heart, making it difficult for anyone to get in. Hayes has made it no secret how much he wants her. He asks for one date and see where it goes from there. She can’t deny the chemistry between them or how sexy and adorably sweet he is, but she still hesitates to let her guard down. Will she finally decide that giving Hayes a chance may not be so bad after all?

I just loved this story. It was sweet and sexy with a little bit of drama. Hayes was just perfect. I think from the moment at his birthday party I fell in love with him. He is swoon worthy and sexy but at the same time an adorable goofball. I am not sure which relationship I loved more. The one he had with Arden or the bond that he formed with her little girl Mia. My god Mia was a precious little girl and I found myself with a big grin on my face whenever they shared a moment together. I was completely swooning. The way he loved and cared for her was just so sweet, it gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.

But his relationship with Arden was one that will just melt your heart. He was out to prove to her that he changed. That he was no longer the bad boy that she thought he was. And boy did he prove it. He was just an amazing person. The way he loved and protected Arden. The sweet moments they shared together, the words he spoke to her. It’s just the little things that make you smile and melt. I felt like I was Arden falling in love with him each time she did. And I loved Arden. She was an amzing mother and just a fantastic heroine.

I loved watching the two of them fall in love. I loved seeing them both grow, especially Arden. It took a lot for her to finally let someone in and break her walls down. But she did it. She gave love another chance and in the end she won big time. This book was the perfect ending to this series. Not only did we get Arden and Hayes’ story but we got to catch up with the rest of the crew as well. They were all a big part of this story and I loved that. The epilogue was just perfect. As always Micalea did an amazing job. She is a fantastic writer who always makes me feel with her characters. I laughed and cried with these characters and at one point my heart was scared for them as well. See all the feels with this one. What a great way to end this series. I will miss every one of these characters.

This may be the last book in the series but isn’t it often the case that the best is left to last.
In this case I would say that Arden and Hayes just might be proof of that synopsis, because the two of them are most definitely two of the most fabulous characters.
Arden was in book three but only as the friend of Sadie, so her story was barely touched upon so to speak. She may have spent time on vacation with Sadie and the initial flicker of attraction between her and Hayes might have begun to smoulder but it was no indication of the inferno that was going to engulf them when they finally got together.
Hayes is had his fair share of women, heck he has had every bodies fair share of women – he has never been one to turn down a quick tumble between the sheet, against the wall or anywhere else that the mood takes him but life has begun to take its toll on him and he has finally accepted that what he has is all well and good but it wont last for ever and nor does he want it too because this bad boy rocker is ready( he thinks) to hang up his man whore ways and find himself a woman, one that he can call his own and one that will be his forever.
Could Arden be that woman, when Hayes seems to think so!
So what do you do if a rock star offers you forever – well if you are Arden, you knock him back that’s what!
I understood that she had been through a terrible time with her previous relationship, her marriage was one that was shrouded in abuse and one that left an emotional void in her life, she had very little left to give in terms of love and devotion, unless of course you are her beautiful daughter Mia, because this little cutie ate up everything Arden had and that was ok in her book.
But Hayes, wasn’t about to let this beautiful woman slip through his fingers and if he had to work for her, he was damn well going to show her that she was worth his time. He pleaded for the opportunity to date her, to just spend time with her, to show her that he was sincere and that she could trust him and dang he was good because his relentless attention and determination finally won her over and the two of them set off on a relationship that given half a chance was destined to be as beautiful as they both were.
But when a blast from the past, sweeps back into town, there are some things that even the most determined of men can’t save you from, but Hayes wasn’t going to be the man to let Arden and Mia down, he would always be the man they needed- no matter what or who stood in his way.
I liked Arden and I thought she was an honest character one that played out the emotions of her past as I would have expected if I was sat listening to a friend recount her own story but I have to say that I loved Hayes, he was the opposite of everything that his public persona would have had you believe or at least eh was once Arden entered the fray.
He loved her without question and his relationship with Mia was so sweet, he force a sigh from my lips. The man understood that family was what you created each and every day, it was more than blood it was a bond that said that you were where you needed to be, with the people you chose to be with and that would never change.
A fantastic story, sorry to see the end of the series.

I was asked by the author of this book if I would like to beta read it! I've beta read a few other books in the series and I'm a big fan of this author, so of course I said yes! I received this book chapter by chapter, so I tried to wait until I had a few chapters before I sat down to read them! It was mostly so I didn't have to wait as long to find out what happened next lol! I loved this book! It may be my second or maybe even first favourite book from this series! The plot was amazing! It was full of romance, but it also had a little bit of suspense in it too! Both these elements made the plot for me! There were also some seriously hot scenes in this book too! I didn't think that they would be so steamy, but they definitely went further than I was expecting them too lol! There were a few twist and turns too! I actually thought that the suspense wasn't going to be as big as it was, but then another twist was thrown in that made the suspense intensify! The characters were also amazing! Arden was the main character, and she was introduced in this series as a secondary character, but this book was her story! I'm so happy that Arden got the chance to tell her story! I loved her in the other books she was in, so I was really excited to get inside her head! Arden was such a sweet and loving character! She was also really easy for me to connect with and she loved her daughter unconditionally! I could see that she would do anything to make her happy and protect her, even if it meant putting herself in danger! Arden also came a long way in this book, and she was able to find love again and be happy and content with her life! Josh 'Hayes' was the love interest of Arden, and he was seriously hot and so cute! I loved Hayes! He was so loving with Arden and he took on more than just a relationship with her, as he had to form a relationship with Arden's daughter, Mia, too, which he did really quickly! Hayes was also very protective of both Arden and Mia, which was understandable considering the situation they were in! He also always put them first, which told me a lot about the kind of guy he was! Hayes also wanted to give Arden and Mia everything, and I could see that he had some insane amount of love for them! It was so beautiful to watch his feelings for the two of them become deeper! I'm really sad that this book is the last book in this series! I've loved every second of reading this series, so I'm really going to miss it and its characters! The ending was very beautiful, but was left open in a way! I can't wait to see what this author releases next though! Her books are always amazing, so I'll definitely be reading anything that she releases! She also writes and releases books really quickly, so I know I won't have to wait long for her next book! The cover for this book suits it perfectly and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! The cover suits the other covers in the series perfectly too! The models on the front are the perfect Hayes and Arden as well! Big thank you to Micalea for allowing me to beta read Take A Chance!

I Was Provided A ARC By The Author
(Possible Spoilers)

Arden James is a young, divorced single mother, raising her three year old daughter, Mia. Her past with her ex has made it hard for her to let to many people close. So the last thing she needs is a guy in her life. She just wants to work, helping her best friend Sadie run her clothing store, and being the best mom for Mia. But Josh Hayes is about to make it complicated for Arden to keep a safe distance from him and her heart. He's persistent. And after the passion filled night they shared months ago, those feelings that Arden though she pushed down far enough, start to resurface. Arden can only fight the attraction she feels for this man for so long. Especially when he is proving what a great man he could be for her and her daughter.

Josh Hayes, lead guitarist for Willow Creek, know bad boy player, is growing tired of the typical rock star life. Partying and women. He wants more. He wants to find love like all of his band mates. And he wants that with the beautiful, Arden James. Her and her daughter have grabbed a hold of his heart. He'll have show her that he isn't the player she still believes him to be. Hayes will work extra hard to prove to Arden that his feelings are real, are something that will last. That her and Mia would be loved and taken care of. He wants to give them the world. But the past and people in their lives start to get in the way of a possible future for Hayes, Arden & Mia. But the three of them and the Willow creek family stick together, because they wont let anything get in the way of a chance at love and a HEA.

Take A Chance is my favorite out of this series. I didn't think anyone could take the place of Maddox being my favorite, but man was i wrong. Hayes got to me. He stole my heart. Who knew the tall, sexy, guitar player had a alpha male side mixed in with that big heart. Hayes is very swoon-worthy. The love he has for Arden and Mia is so sweet and beautiful. He's a great book boyfriend. He loves his family, his a great friend, a rock star, a hero for Arden and Mia. Plus he's funny, cocky, knows what he wants and goes after it.

Arden was a great female lead. She is a strong, independent women, but isn't scared to ask for a little help from her family and friends. She is a fantastic mother who gives Mia everything she can. Despite being hurt badly by her ex, she came out stronger and a braver person. She has so much love for her daughter, and it fuels her to do better, be better. Together her and Hayes are a strong couple who wont let anything that is thrown at them slow them down or break them.

I'm very sad to see this series come to a end. Theses characters, this world Micalea created has been so much fun to read. I will miss Maddox, Emma, Mathias, Remy, Ezra, Sadie, Hayes & Arden. But i know they will always be on my kindle, my book shelf, to pick up and read when i start to miss the Willow Creek family.

This was a really bittersweet book for me, because while I was so excited for Hayes and Arden, I was sad since this is the last book in the series. These books have released pretty close to each other, so I never really forgot the magic from the last books, which made this series so much better than a lot of other ones. And luckily this book is incredible, so the series finishes off with a worthy happily ever after.

Arden and Hayes intrigued me since the last book. There were already things that I loved about them just from those little scenes. And that love for them just grew even more in this book. Both of them are such fun and likable characters to read about. Arden was the most realistic in how she acted throughout the book. She was shy and scared, understandably, but didn’t fight her feelings more than necessary. She didn’t cause unnecessary drama and was very pleasant to read about. Likewise, Hayes was a lot of fun, but not too over the top. He had his childish and goofy moments, but he knew when to be serious and how to show his love for Arden. There was actually nothing wrong with him. So obviously characters so fantastic were amazing together. I loved how Hayes pursued Arden and how their relationship developed and that trust grew stronger. Out of all the Willow Creek couples, I have to say Hayes and Arden are now my favorite.

Mia was probably one of the best aspects of this book. I just wanted to give her a big hug and have a tea party with her. She was so cute and I loved her relationship with Hayes, and obviously Arden. Mia added so much to story in every aspect and I’m so glad Micalea Smeltzer gave her such a significant role. She adds the little extra special that the others books don’t have.

The story in general was pretty good. As to be expected, there was a lot of focus on Hayes and Arden’s relationship, so a lot of the events in the book are background to that. One thing that I did like, although horrible, the main conflict of the book wasn’t what usually happens. And that aspect took away a lot of unnecessary drama that would have dragged the story down. This plot line, like the characters, was realistic enough considering Hayes is a famous musician.

If you don’t know this about my reviews, when I really like a book, my thoughts and reviews don’t make sense and are a huge jumble since I’m usually still in awe of what I’ve just read. So to sum it up really quickly, the characters were incredible. The story line was fantastic. The book was perfect. This series is now one of my favorites. So go buy this book, or the first book, or wherever you are in the series and clear your schedule. And if you’re hesitating, take a chance.

Okay now I loved this book almost the most in the Willow Creek series!!! I absolutely loved these two characters in this series. Hayes was like a kid and he made me laugh. Trust me I don’t want to say goodbye to these character. This series became one of my favourite series real quickly. What I loved about this book is because it wasn’t just focused on the romance but actually the development of relationship but not only between Hayes and Arden but actually between Hayes, Arden and Mia.
As you all know Hayes was always a player, but he does not like that life so much anymore. He would like to settle down just like the rest of his band mates. Hayes and Arden met In Your Heart and I can tell you that he was awe struck with Arden and Mia the moment he saw them and all he ever wanted was for Arden to take a chance on him…. But she was so much more afraid to take a chance not because of who Hayes is but because of her past. She didn’t have the best relationship in the past and she was afraid to trust men again. Hayes was the funniest guy in the band well he is in competition with Maddox. Lol they both act like children and always kept s grin on my face. Whereas Mathias was the over protective and broody one and Ezra is laid back one. Trust me both Maddox and Hayes are both a handful. Hayes has a desire to have a family and he loves Mia, someone who isn’t his even his real daughter. He is a total gentlemen to Arden and Mia and I can tell you one thing he is amazing with Mia.

Hayes is just so wonderful with both them and so honest. He made a person fall in love with him since the beginning. Especially the way he treated Mia like she is his own. He even said so to the paparazzi whenever she was with him. I can tell you Mia is cuteness over load. She is just so adorable and sweet and so cutie. I can tell you she is a smart one for a three year old. Arden was a spitfire. She is extremely wonderful mother even when Mia tests Arden’s patience. I admire her so much, how she raised Mia all by herself. Her witty banter with Hayes was so endearing and I was so glad they found each other.

I am really sad that this book series had to end. These characters really grew on me on this short time and it pains me to say goodbye to them. I know I will miss these characters. I hope there would be some novellas about them, it would be so nice to read them with their children.

The Willow Creek boys have made their way into my heart and not wanting to let go. And I am completely okay with that. This has been a fantastic ride with these rock stars and I have enjoyed every moment of it.

Take A Chance is Hayes’s story. Joshua Hayes is the guitarist for Willow Creek. A known player back in the beginning of the band’s rise who is now reformed and looking for something more. He has his sights set on Arden who has had a troubled past due to her ex-husband. She is now rising her daughter Mia on her own and working in Sadie’s store. She does her best to ignore Hayes’s pursual of her but even she knows that her defenses are no match. As much as she would like to deny their chemistry, she has no choice but to eventually give in. And when she does, boy is it great!

Hayes may have become my favorite Willow Creek boy. He is so sweet and caring and loving when it comes to Arden and Mia. The way he treated both of them was beautiful. His gestures, sayings, and actions made me, the reader fall in love with him alongside Arden. Arden is a strong woman. After everything that she has been through in her past, she continues to make the best of her situation and do great by Mia. The relationship that Hayes, Arden, and Mia have is so loving. I just adore their little family. But then Arden’s ex comes back into the picture and starts trouble. Hayes would do anything for his girls and I was so glad with how he handled the situation. He’s such a great guy. This book has such a tender feel to it. Micalea did a great job with the delivery and the characters. I loved it.

I am so sad to see this series end. I have loved every single book and feel in love with Maddox, Mathias, Ezra, and Hayes. Emma, Remy, Sadie, and Arden are such great females. The characters and story-lines were awesome. Such a wonderful series that will readers will definitely enjoy. Willow Creek groupie for life :)

The moment I think I have a favorite Willow Creek guy, here comes another book and my favorites list gets blown apart again. But I have to say, Hayes is so very swoon-worthy...hell, even the female characters in the book say so! The hot bad boy turns out to be the sweetest one yet, and if he doesn't capture your heart with how he is towards Arden, he'll definitely snag it once you see how he is with her daughter. Loving, devoted, caring, thoughtful...I could go on and on.

Here in the fourth book of the series, I just feel so comfortable with all of the characters--the further in you get, the more you feel like you're a part of their group-like you're one of the family. That's how enmeshed in the series you'll be by the time you read Take A Chance. I know that's where I am right now, and I'm loving it!

Arden is so protective of her daughter, even to the point of holding off on her own happiness. But Hayes slowly chips away at her walls, and seeing everything start to come together for the two of them feels immensely satisfying. There's still bumps along the way--and a punch of drama when Arden's ex resurfaces to really mess with their minds and lives--but ultimately I found this to be a really sweet story, and I think Hayes and Arden might be my favorite couple of the entire series. They are one of those couples who you can't imagine not being together, and with them and Mia-Arden's daughter-you feel like they've always been a family.

The writing flows so easily, and you're quickly drawn in...constantly rooting for Hayes and Arden. This story more than all the others is about love and finding family, and will touch your heart while nicely wrapping up the series. Which is a bit of a downer--I am really going to miss these characters who have become like a second family.

4.5 sweet and sexy stars for Take A Chance...and this entire series is a Top Recommendation for me. For 18+ due to adult language and sexual scenes.

*I was given a copy of this book as a gift from Stephanie's Book Reports in exchange for an honest review.

Take a Chance is the fourth book in the Willow Creek series, and it is the story of Hayes and Arden.

We first met Arden in the last book. She is Sadie's best friend, and she ends up going on vacation with the entire gang. Of course, Hayes, the notorious playboy of the band, finds her attractive instantly. His band mates don't have any idea that Hayes is tired of all the groupies and longs to find one woman to be with, and he thinks that woman could be Arden.

After surviving an abusive marriage. Arden is wary of all men, and she is just focused on raising her three year old daughter, Mia. After much begging on Hayes part, Arden finally decides to give Hayes a chance, and the two end up falling in love. Everything is perfect until a threat from Arden's past shows up. Hayes vows to protect Arden and Mia, but sometimes that isn't possible.

I really loved this book! The chemistry between Arden and Hayes was off the charts! They really were perfect for one another. Even though they had to overcome several obstacles to find their happily ever after, they worked together as a couple should. My favorite quote from the book is when Hayes says this to Arden "Hey," he grabbed my chin, forcing me to look at him, "you and Mia are my family now too. Family is so much more than blood. It's like me and the guys..we're not related but we are still a family. Some connections and bonds are more important than blood." I swear Hayes is so amazing!! If you haven't read the books in this series, you are missing out! Order them now enjoy!

Take A Chance by Micalea Smeltzer is the fourth book in the Willow Creek Series telling the story of Josh and Arden. This book will make you laugh, hope and smile all while turning each page with a need to see what happens with this unlikely couple. This book was a 3.5 star read for me and I highly recommend this entire series to everyone! I know that you will enjoy it as much as I have.

Arden has been through her share of trauma, married to a man that was controlling and abusive, but the one shining light in her life was her daughter Mia. Finally rebuilding a life for her and her daughter, Arden makes friends with the women behind the men of Willow Creek, which brings her into the family and puts her in Josh's path. Arden has no room in her life or her heart to open up to another man as she believes it will only lead to heartache, both hers and Mia's.

Josh Hayes is the goofy guitar player for the wildly popular band Willow Creek; a manwhore who has never had a relationship before, let alone with a woman who has a child. But Josh cannot deny the draw that he feels toward Arden and Mia and he begins to do everything in his power to get her to see him as more than the playboy of the band that he once was.

Will Arden be able to open her heart and her home to Hayes? Will Hayes be able to break through Arden's walls of steel and get her to admit her feelings and be with him? You will have to read this amazing story to find out.

And for those of you that have read the other Willow Creek books, you get a glimpse at where the other couples are now which is always something I love in a series!!

“Take A Chance” was an amazing conclusion to the Willow Creek series, and I truly enjoyed reading Hayes and Arden’s story. Micalea Smeltzer has an extraordinary talent creating and telling stories, and she did an excellent job with this one. Hayes and Arden were amazing characters and made an incredibly perfect couple. They both complemented each other well and I loved their personalities and chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout the book. I fell in love with Hayes, Arden, and little Mia from the very beginning, and I immensely enjoyed going on their journey with them. I loved the easy and loving relationship the three of them had with one another, and it warmed my heart to see how sweet, kind, and patient Hayes was with Mia and Arden. They were all wonderful and I was extremely thrilled and beyond pleased with the outcome of their story. I was also super excited to see past characters and couples from previous books in the series, and it was awesome to see what was happening with all of them. I experienced every emotion under the sun reading this book, but it was all totally worth it in the end. “Take A Chance” was a truly phenomenal conclusion to the exceptional and addicting Willow Creek series, and although I am extremely sad the series is all over, I am thoroughly looking forward to reading “The Road That Leads To Us,” a spin-off companion novel/series to Willow Creek!

I received an ARC of this book from Give Me Books in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book's release day promotions.

I've actually read this entire series. I've reviewed most of them, actually. I think that when it comes to new adult and musician heroes, this series is a good one to read. From the very first book to this one right here, Micalea Smeltzer has taken me on a wonderful journey with the Willow Creek men, introducing characters and stories that are touching and amazing. With this fourth book, I now have to bid farewell to the whole band. No worries, though, these books from the Willow Creek series are too good that I'm sure I'll be re-reading them in the future.

Even if this book can be read as a standalone, when you've read all four books like I have, you've got to say that this book was a great way to end the series. On the previous books, while I loved them all, I still felt that they were a bit safe and formulaic. This book surprised me with how far the author went in playing out the story. It was really good.

If you haven't read anything from the series, you really should start reading the books as soon as possible. It's quite an entertainment and a great way to spend time on. It's sad to see a series end, but this series just ended the best way possible.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Take A Chance is the final book in the Willow Creek series and I was definitely tearing up over that fact. It was amazing to see the band one last time and their interactions especially as they have grown older but not necessarily acting that way. Their shenanigans definitely made for some laughter and fun filled times. But there was also some suspense that certainly added a darker tone to the book.

Hayes and Arden were well developed characters, ones that readers easily fall in love with. Just like the read of the Willow Creek series.

Micalea Smeltzer also has an interesting writing style, one that draws readers in and capture their attention. And the ending of Take A Chance, that was so beautiful that I wanted to cry for more than just the ending of an amazing series.

If you haven't already picked up any of Micalea Smeltzer's work or in particular any of the Willow Creek series, you really need to do that now!

ARC received for honest review for CJ’s Book Corner

I wanted to read this book slow. I didn’t want this series to end. The last of the Willow Creek boys story was being told and I think it was the best. Hayes, the guitar player for Willow Creek was the playboy of the group. Until he met Arden, Sadie’s assistant. They shared an amazing night together and that was it for him. She thought is was a one time thing and tried to avoid him. He made it known he was not giving up. She had a crazy ex and a little girl. He was going to make her forget the past and love them both. Boy did he!! This story is what every woman who is dating would want in a man. The passion, the attention, the undeniable chemistry, and of course the devotion to not only her but her daughter.

All of Micalea Smeltzer’s books leave an impression. Her stories are well told, she makes her characters believable, and you can’t help but fall in love with every series. I am sad to see this one end, but know that she has got another one waiting in the wings ready for us to fall in love with again. Thank you Micalea Smeltzer for bringing us the boys of Willow Creek. This has definitely been one of my fave series.

In this fourth book of the Willow Creek series, we encounter Arden and Hayes. We know they hooked up in the last book, but what happened after that? What did Todd do to her that has kept her single ever since he walked out of her life and divorced her? We see Mia and Arden get to have some fun with the girls and the boys in NYC when they are asked to participate as a band on one of the morning television shows. What happens when Mia, Arden's daughter sees Hayes and the boys up on the stage playing their music? This is a book filled with terror, love, heartache, and romance. It is definitely a great conclusion to the book about the boys and their ladies of the Willow Creek band. Hopefully we'll get a glimpse into their future again sometime.

Awe damn I finished this series and I'm so sad!!! Like I've lost my best friends kinda sad!!! This was truly a perfect ending to the Willow Creek Series! Hayes and Arden were just so perfect for each other. Mia was such a breath of sunshine! I swear she stole the show in so much of this book! She was an adorable little girl who could truly wrap everyone around her little finger but never acted spoiled (even if she was) and I loved that!!!

Hayes was such an understanding, fun, loving comfort to both Ms. Mia and Arden. He always put them first and never acted out or got angry. It was absolutely impossible not to love him! He faced every situation with a fun loving confidence but wasn't cocky! Arden was just as strong dealing with what was thrown at her! I swear I feel like they are close friends of mine!!!

I also loved how thru this entire series all the couples made appearances and we saw how their lives were progressing. This was a refreshing series that also dealt with some serious issues but was so very well written!!

Amazing, Wonderful, Kick-ass story!! just wow!!!

Arden is a single mother. She was married to a man who was abusive and had never wanted children so when Arden fell pregnant he left. Arden was thankful when the divorce papers came through and she was free of that man. Josh is the guitarist for the band Willow Creek. Hes a bad boy that Arden ends up having a one night stand with. But Josh doesn't give up so easily. He continuously calls her and tries to get in touch with her after that night.

Arden finally gives in to Josh and gives him one night, one date to make up her mind if she wants to risk getting into another relationship. After the date they start getting closer and you see a side of Josh you wouldnt expect from the bad boy band member. Hes sweet, caring, considerate but in Arden's mind that is how her ex-husband started out.

Can Josh and Arden make things work? What happens when Arden's ex comes back into the picture?

This book, the last book in the Willow Creek series, ended with a bang! While I didn't expect anything less from this author, I was completely blown away. She went far beyond what my imagination had conjured up for Take A Chance. She actually went far beyond my expectations for the whole series! I was laughing, crying and hyperventilating. There was romance, hate and kindness. There was even a few sexy scenes to throw in there for good measure.

Above all, there was this over all feeling of contentment. No other word describes how this series ending made me feel. You never want a good series to end but they always do. The way Take A Chance finished, it was just right. Tied off in a little perfect bow of rock stars and their forever girls. ~ Kelly, 5 stars

I can't believe this is the end of Willow Creek. I've loved this entire series. Hayes, Arden and Mia are the cherry on the top of this series. Honestly, I've fallen in love with each one of the guys. I can say without a doubt Hayes is the cream of the crop. Thank You Micalea for this wonderful series. I'm running to cry now.
